Galatasaray threaten lawsuit over Noa Lang’s freak injury at Liverpool

Galatasaray are reportedly considering legal action following the serious injury suffered by Noa Lang, after the club already submitted an official complaint, according to Mirror reports.

The winger sustained a severe injury during their UEFA Champions League defeat to Liverpool, where he reportedly severed his thumb.

The Turkish side are now exploring a compensation claim over the incident.

Speaking via HTSpor, Galatasaray General Secretary Eray Yazgan confirmed the club’s position, saying: “We made a complaint to UEFA representatives after the match. They also made their investigations. UEFA will evaluate the issue.

We are in talks with lawyers. We will file a lawsuit for compensation to UEFA. We will ask for our victimization in terms of salary to be eliminated.”

He added that official representatives from Liverpool F.C. were seen inspecting the advertising hoarding where the injury occurred.

The club is also awaiting UEFA’s response, while Liverpool have declined to comment as investigations continue, though they have wished the player a full recovery.

Noa Lang was immediately given oxygen pitchside before being stretchered off and rushed to hospital, where he underwent surgery.
