Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has touched down in Tanzania to attend the grand finale of Priscilla Ojo’s wedding celebration.
Her arrival put to rest speculations surrounding her absence from the Nigerian leg of the ceremony.
Accompanied by fellow actress Jaiye Kuti, Akindele departed Nigeria and was seen in a now-trending video at the airport alongside her colleague. The duo was warmly welcomed with bouquets of roses and traditional handwoven mufflers emblazoned with the word “Tanzania” draped around their necks.
Iyabo Ojo, the mother of the bride and their host in Tanzania, playfully remarked that the locals had promised to “show them pepper,” hinting at the vibrant and lively hospitality they were set to enjoy. In a light-hearted response, Jaiye Kuti added that they had brought “rodo” (Scotch bonnet pepper) from Nigeria to match the energy.
Funke Akindele delighted fans when she joined in with local cultural dancers, showcasing her dance moves with infectious energy. Her performance won over the crowd, earning her praise for her charisma and stage presence. Juma Jux’s sisters and others present at the welcome reception honored her by placing a flowered scarf around her neck.
Her participation in the Tanzanian leg of the wedding comes after she was noticeably absent at the Nigerian ceremony. Her absence had previously sparked conversations online, with some questioning her tendency to skip events involving her colleagues.
