Nottingham Forest have cut ties with Nigerian striker, Emmanuel Dennis, after announcing the termination of his contract.

The Premier League club made the confirmation on Sunday through a statement released on their official website.

The decision brings an end to Dennis’ two-year stay at the City Ground.

Dennis arrived at Forest in the summer of 2022, joining on the back of an impressive individual campaign with Watford in the Premier League.

Expectations were high, but the versatile attacker found it difficult to secure a consistent starting role.

During his maiden season with Forest, the 27-year-old scored two goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.

Despite showing flashes of quality, he was unable to nail down a regular place in Steve Cooper’s squad.

In search of more playing time, Dennis was loaned out the following campaign to Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir, before returning briefly to Watford.

He then completed another loan switch in January, joining Sky Bet Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, where he made six appearances and registered one assist.

His departure from Forest now leaves the Nigerian forward at a crossroads in his career, with his next move yet to be determined.
