Nigeria’s U-20 men’s national team, the Flying Eagles, are gearing up for action at the first-ever WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations, set to take place in Ghana.
The competition will run from Thursday, July 10 to Wednesday, July 24, 2025, with all matches scheduled to be held in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.
Initially slated to kick off in Prampram from June 15 to June 30, the tournament was rescheduled to “ensure the best possible conditions for the tournament.”
For the Flying Eagles, the regional showdown presents a vital opportunity to fine-tune preparations ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
Aliyu Zubairu’s team last featured at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt back in March, where they secured a commendable third-place finish.
Other nations competing in the WAFU B U-20 Cup include Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Burkina Faso, Togo, and Benin.
