Nigeria, Senegal, and Morocco are among the six countries that have secured spots in the quarter-final stage of the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations currently underway in Egypt.
This development follows the completion of the group stage matches on Thursday.
Senegal booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 win over DR Congo, while Ghana edged past the Central African Republic 1-0 to confirm their qualification.
Earlier on Wednesday, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Kenya, which was enough to see them through.
Morocco also clinched their quarter-final ticket with a convincing 3-1 victory over Tunisia in an all-North African clash.
As it stands, the six teams already through to the quarter-finals are Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and DR Congo.
The final two spots will be decided on Friday when Tanzania face host nation Egypt, and South Africa take on Zambia.
The winners of these encounters will complete the quarter-final lineup, with matches scheduled to begin on Monday.
