Fishermen rescue man after jumping into Lagos lagoon

A yet-to-be-identified man reportedly attempted to take his own life by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon after abandoning his vehicle on a bridge.

The Punch reported that the incident was, however, swiftly foiled after local fishermen and bystanders intervened, rescuing him from the water and preventing what eyewitnesses described as a likely fatal outcome.

A video of the rescue, which has since circulated online, was shared on Instagram on Wednesday by Isaac Fayose, who expressed concern over the development and called on Nigerians to look out for their loved ones.

“Please, check on your family and friends. This just happened today. Who knows what went wrong,” he wrote.
