Former Nigerian international, Finidi George, has tipped Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho to shine in Scotland following his switch to Celtic.
Iheanacho endured a mixed campaign last season, beginning at Sevilla before moving on loan to Middlesbrough in the English Championship, where he struggled to find consistency.
Now set for a new challenge in the Scottish Premiership, the 27-year-old forward is expected to add firepower and creativity to Celtic’s frontline as they push for domestic dominance and European progress.
Sharing his thoughts with Footy-Africa, Finidi expressed confidence that the move would reignite Iheanacho’s career.
“Kelechi is a quality player, and I see Celtic as the right stage for him to show what he can really do,” Finidi said. “Sometimes, all a player needs is the right atmosphere and a team that believes in his ability.”
He added, “Celtic’s style of attacking football suits him perfectly. It won’t be easy to bounce back after a difficult spell, but top players always find their way. Kelechi has the hunger, and this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for.”
