The Federal Government has temporarily suspended the recruitment portal of its paramilitary agencies to enhance efficiency and accommodate the growing number of applicants.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Major General AM Jibril (retd.).
According to the statement, the temporary suspension is aimed at improving system performance and ensuring a seamless recruitment exercise.
“The suspension is necessary to allow for system upgrades and to ensure the platform can efficiently manage the large volume of applications received,” Jibril stated.
He noted that the application portal, which was initially opened on June 30, 2025, will resume operations on Monday, July 21.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” he added.
The board commended the enthusiasm shown by Nigerians toward serving in the nation’s paramilitary institutions and assured all applicants of a credible selection process.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies. We remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” the statement read.
The suspension affects agencies under the CDCFIB, which include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service.
Applicants were advised to remain vigilant and monitor the official recruitment portal to complete their applications once the system reopens.
The recruitment exercise, launched late last month, has drawn thousands of entries from job seekers across the country, highlighting the high demand for employment in federal paramilitary agencies.
