The Federal Capital Territory Administration has appointed Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan, mni, as its Acting Head of Service following the death of the immediate past head, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, who passed away last Monday.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday, is in an acting capacity pending the confirmation of a substantive Head of Service.
Until her new role, Nathan was the Permanent Secretary in charge of the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA. She had previously served as Director of Finance and Administration in the office of the FCT Minister before her elevation to permanent secretary.
Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Administration, Mr. Lere Olayinka, confirmed the development in a statement.
He said, “Mrs. Nathan’s appointment takes effect immediately. She is expected to bring her wealth of experience in public service management to sustain and further the reforms within the FCTA.”
The statement further described Nathan as an experienced technocrat who has contributed significantly to the administration in various capacities.
Her appointment comes at a sensitive time for the FCTA, following the sudden loss of Mrs. Adayilo, whose death left a leadership vacuum in the administrative structure.
Olayinka added, “The Administration is confident that Mrs. Nathan will provide the needed stability and continuity as Acting Head of Service.”
