Former US Open champion, Emma Raducanu, has put to rest swirling rumours suggesting she’s romantically involved with fellow tennis star Carlos Alcaraz.

Raducanu and Alcaraz, both aged 22, recently intensified speculation after they were spotted training together on Friday, just days before Raducanu’s opening match against wildcard Mimi Xu on Monday.

Whispers of a romance between the two had been gaining traction across social media, especially after the US Open announced that the former singles champions would be joining forces for a revamped mixed doubles event later this August.

When quizzed about the speculation, Raducanu flashed a smile and calmly shut down the rumours, saying, “We’re just good friends.”

Meanwhile, Alcaraz, the five-time Grand Slam winner, offered a glimpse into their dynamic in a BBC interview during Wimbledon.

His lighthearted remarks reflected mutual respect and the easygoing nature of their friendship.

“I’m just going to serve and I’m gonna pull myself away and I let her play.

“She will cover a lot of the court. She will be the boss. I will do whatever she wants me to do.”

The two are set to play together at the Billie Jean King Tennis Centre in New York, aiming to add a doubles title to their respective singles triumphs at the US Open.
