Czech First League side Dukla Prague have secured the services of Nigerian midfielder Samson Tijani on a long-term deal.

Tijani, a former captain of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, arrives at the club as a free agent following a challenging five-year stint with Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.

The 23-year-old midfielder initially joined Salzburg in 2020 from Nigeria’s Collins Edwin Sports Academy but struggled to break into the first team, making just three league appearances during his time there.

In an effort to gain more playing time, Tijani was loaned out to three different Austrian clubs and most recently spent last season with Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad.

Now looking to reignite his career, Tijani sees the move to Dukla Prague as a fresh start.

“The move to Dukla is an important step for me. At this stage of my career, I want to focus on growth, development and consistently proving my qualities,” he told the club’s official website.
