Chuba Akpom has sealed a season-long loan move to Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town from Dutch giants Ajax.
The 29-year-old Nigerian-born forward arrives as the Tractor Boys’ sixth summer signing, bringing with him experience from top European leagues.
Akpom spent the latter half of last season in France with Lille, netting three goals and providing an assist in 14 Ligue 1 appearances, while also featuring in the Champions League.
The former Arsenal man is relishing a return to English football and believes Ipswich is the perfect fit for his style of play.
“I was buzzing when I heard about the interest,” Akpom told TownTV. “Ipswich has big ambitions, and I’ve always thought my game would suit them perfectly. My time at Ajax and Lille has shaped me both on and off the pitch, and I’m ready to bring that experience here.
“I want to contribute as much as possible, whether it’s in the dressing room or on the pitch. I’m coming with a winning mindset, ready to help the team push forward.”
