Liverpool took another confident step toward securing their second Premier League title as Arne Slot’s men edged out West Ham United 2-1 on Sunday, with Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk playing decisive roles.

Salah, who recently penned a two-year contract extension, marked the occasion in style by assisting Luis Diaz’s opening goal.

That assist brought Salah’s total goal involvements this season to 45 — a new record for a 38-game Premier League campaign.

West Ham, however, refused to back down and found a way back into the match in the 86th minute. Their persistent attacking effort paid off when Andy Robertson inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a threatening cross.

But just three minutes later, Liverpool reclaimed their lead. Van Dijk rose highest to power in a header from a corner, sealing the win in the 89th minute.

The result pushes Liverpool 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with six matches remaining, while West Ham sit just above the relegation zone in 17th place on 35 points.
