The Enugu State House of Representatives Caucus has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his exceptional developmental achievements since assuming office two years ago.
In a mid-term assessment released on Sunday, the federal lawmakers highlighted the governor’s remarkable progress in infrastructure, security, education, and economic revitalization.
Led by Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, the Caucus described Mbah’s administration as “phenomenal,” particularly citing his aggressive road construction, improved security, revival of abandoned projects, and revitalization of moribund state-owned enterprises.
The lawmakers also applauded his strategic investments in agriculture and agro-industrial value chains, which they believe will attract investors, create jobs, and boost the state’s economy.
“We are further satisfied that the state government’s programmes and projects, be they in education, agricultural investments, and road infrastructure, health sector, among others, are being evenly spread across the 260 wards in the state in line with the governor’s inclusive development model,” the Caucus stated.
The lawmakers emphasized that Mbah’s administration is laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth, pointing to ongoing projects such as: Construction of 260 Smart Green Schools; Development of 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres; Establishment of 260 Farm Estates; Expansion of transport and tourism infrastructure
“The ongoing construction of 260 Smart Green Schools, 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, the 260 Farm Estates, transport infrastructure, roads, tourism infrastructure, and numerous other foundations being speedily laid are clear signs that the governor’s promise to grow the state’s economy from $4.5 billion to $30 billion in eight years are realisable,” the statement read.
The Caucus also praised the governor’s efforts in attracting both local and foreign investments, attributing investor confidence to improved security and infrastructure.
“We equally commend the governor’s drive for local investment and foreign direct investment, which are yielding good results because of the security and infrastructure that have been put in place to make Enugu safe and conducive for business,” they noted.
Additionally, the lawmakers lauded Mbah’s urban renewal initiatives, which have transformed Enugu into a bustling hub of construction and development. They urged residents to continue supporting the administration as it works toward fulfilling its economic and social development promises.
The mid-term review underscores the Caucus’s confidence in Mbah’s leadership and his vision to position Enugu as a leading investment destination in Nigeria. With ongoing projects spread across all wards, the governor’s inclusive governance model is seen as a blueprint for equitable development in the state.
As Enugu continues its rapid transformation, the lawmakers expressed optimism that Mbah’s policies will deliver long-term prosperity, reinforcing his pledge to grow the state’s economy sevenfold within eight years.
