As part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized 2,900 personnel across Kwara State.

Announcing the deployment on Wednesday, the State Commandant, Mohammed Umar, said officers have been strategically stationed in all 16 local government areas to protect lives, property, and critical infrastructure during the festive period.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Ayoola Michael, the command emphasized that prayer grounds, amusement parks, markets, and other public places would be adequately monitored.

“Our deployment is deliberate and strategic. The presence of our personnel will be visible and reassuring. We have identified risk-prone areas and adopted a layered security approach to guarantee safety,” the command stated.

Commandant Umar further explained that Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and specialized tactical units have been directed to remain vigilant and sustain community engagement efforts throughout the holiday.

He also warned against attempts by individuals or groups to exploit the festive mood to foment trouble or damage public property, stressing that the Corps would not hesitate to enforce the law.

“Anyone caught attempting to breach the peace, vandalise infrastructure, or commit any criminal act will face swift legal action,” he warned.

Umar congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion and urged the public to remain security conscious and report any suspicious movement or behavior to the appropriate authorities.
