Egyptian national rescued in Oyo 24 hours after kidnapping

The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued an Egyptian national who was abducted on the morning of Monday, September 8, 2025, in the Alomaja area of Idi-Ayunre, Oyo State, less than 24 hours after the incident.

The operation, which did not involve any ransom payment, was carried out under the strategic leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, psc(+). Officers from 4 PMF Ibadan, the Command’s Intelligence and Tactical units, local vigilante groups, and the Ogun State Police Command collaborated closely to ensure the safe recovery of the victim.

“The swift action and teamwork displayed by our officers and partner agencies ensured that the abducted individual was located and rescued safely,” CP Haruna said. “We commend the dedication and bravery of all involved in this operation.”

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, the rescue involved careful planning and intelligence-led operations across forests and border areas between Oyo and Ogun States.

“The victim has been reunited with his family after receiving necessary medical attention at the Police Hospital, Eleyele,” CSP Adewale stated.
