EFCC nabs 32 suspected internet fraudsters in Bauchi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested 32 individuals in Bauchi for alleged involvement in internet fraud.

The suspects were apprehended in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of the state capital by operatives of the Commission’s Gombe Zonal Directorate.

According to a statement posted on the EFCC’s official Facebook page on Monday, the operation was based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.

The arrest was carried out on Friday, July 25, 2025.

The anti-graft agency confirmed that various items were recovered during the operation, including mobile devices, laptops, a car, motorcycles, gaming consoles, a generator, and a pistol.

“The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations,” the Commission stated.

The EFCC also reiterated its commitment to ridding the nation of financial and cyber-related crimes, urging the public to continue supporting its efforts.

“This operation reflects our resolve to tackle internet fraud and other forms of economic crimes with renewed energy,” the statement added.
