Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 120 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud during coordinated operations across multiple locations in Lagos State.
The commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday, May 19, 2025. According to Oyewale, the operation was conducted by officers from the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 following actionable intelligence and weeks of surveillance.
The arrested suspects comprise 95 males and 25 females allegedly linked to various forms of cybercrime. During the raids, EFCC operatives recovered 26 luxury vehicles, assorted high-end jewelry, smartphones, laptops, and several documents suspected to contain evidence of fraudulent transactions.
“The suspects are currently undergoing further investigation and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” Oyewale stated.
