The Ebonyi State Secondary Education Board has released the results of its recent recruitment exercise for secondary school teachers.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abakaliki, the Executive Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Lilian Nwankwo, announced that successful candidates are expected to appear for oral interviews, which will be held in phases from Monday, June 23 to Friday, July 18, 2025.
According to her, the interviews will take place daily between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the board’s headquarters on Town Planning Road, Abakaliki.
“The interview will be conducted in phases across the three education zones in the state to ensure proper coordination,” Nwankwo stated.
She explained that candidates from the Ebonyi North Zone will be interviewed from June 23 to June 27, those from the Ebonyi Central Zone from June 30 to July 4, while the Ebonyi South Zone will have theirs from July 7 to July 11.
Nwankwo urged all applicants to check the SEB notice board at the board’s headquarters for the list of shortlisted candidates and detailed interview schedules.
She also outlined the documents candidates must present during the interview, including original and photocopies of birth certificates or age declarations, certificates of local government origin, three recent passport photographs, and all academic qualifications such as First School Leaving Certificate, WASSCE, Postgraduate, Master’s, or PhD certificates where applicable.
“Applicants must also provide their Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate or proof of registration, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and a printout of their Bank Verification Number (BVN),” she added.
The chairman advised candidates to arrange their original credentials in a single flat file and the photocopies in a paper file, as required by the board.
She emphasized that the recruitment process remains transparent and based strictly on merit, as part of the government’s commitment to raising the standard of education in public secondary schools across the state.
“We are committed to a fair and credible selection process that will ensure only the most qualified candidates are engaged,” she affirmed.
