In a striking display of defiance, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to stand when Akpabio entered the chamber, breaking from the norm that typically sees lawmakers rise to acknowledge the Senate President.
Senator Natash Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, made her return to the Senate, as plenary resumed after a one-week recess.
Her arrival into the National Assembly complex was marked by a notable moment, as she was accompanied by her husband, who kissed her before she proceeded to her newly assigned seat in the chamber.
The senator’s return follows a public confrontation with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over a change in her seating position.
The dispute escalated when Akpoti-Uduaghan later accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.
