Dele Momodu officially joins ADC

Former presidential aspirant and media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu, has formally pitched his tent with the African Democratic Congress.

Momodu announced his defection on Thursday in Benin City, Edo State, where he met with supporters and party faithful.

Speaking at the gathering, he stressed that his decision was driven by a desire to serve the people, not by personal ambition for any elective position in the state.

According to him, his return to active political engagement in Edo was long overdue, following decades of personal sacrifice and careful planning that enabled him to establish firm roots in his hometown.

He said, “And I came home for the first time and I coordinated everything, then it took me over 50 years, you won’t believe it, of excruciating hard work and meticulous planning to plant a home from my modest income in Iwe.

“So today, nobody can say Dele has no roots in Iwe. today, I am standing before you, my friends, as I humbly reintegrate myself into the political process of my state.

“People have asked me, what do you want? Do you want to be a governor, a senator? No. I just want to promote the best interests of our people.”

Momodu reiterated that his move to the ADC was about contributing meaningfully to the political development of Edo State and ensuring that the voices and welfare of the people remain at the centre of governance.
