Former Real Madrid and Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has expressed confidence in Cesc Fabregas’ ability to manage a top-tier club like Inter Milan.

With Simone Inzaghi set to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, Inter have reportedly opened discussions with Fabregas, currently the head coach of Serie B outfit Como, over the possibility of stepping into the managerial role at San Siro.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Del Bosque praised Fabregas’ fearless character and readiness to embrace demanding roles throughout his career.

“Clearly, without a doubt. Cesc has never been scared in life, and he was called upon to take on big challenges very early on. At Arsenal he had Patrick Vieira, a world champion, in front of him. And in the national team, a generation of phenomena. He has never trembled.

“He left for London at a very young age, accumulating a great deal of experience. And even if it may seem like something relative, the fact that he can speak and communicate in many languages helps a lot. Cesc knows how to move well in very different cultures.”

As talks continue between Fabregas and the Nerazzurri hierarchy, Del Bosque’s endorsement adds weight to the belief that the former Spain international is primed for a leap to one of Europe’s most storied clubs.
