Bayern Munich confirmed on Monday that Canadian left-back, Alphonso Davies, has resumed training with the ball, nearly five months after suffering an ACL tear while representing his country.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury during Canada’s Nations League third-place playoff against the United States in March.
“Alphonso Davies was able to train again with the ball on Monday,” the club said in an official statement.
Davies had returned to individual training about a month ago and is now expected to be ready for Bayern’s Bundesliga matches in October.
The Canadian international, who also captains his national team, signed a contract extension in Munich last February, keeping him at the club until 2030.
Meanwhile, Bayern face longer-term absences elsewhere, with forward Jamal Musiala sidelined with a broken ankle until 2026, while defender Hiroki Ito could return from a foot injury before the end of the year.
