An Ondo State High Court has banned the Governor of the, Ogbeni Oluwarotimi Akeredolu from installing one Chief Alexander Akinnadeju as the Aladeokun of the Alade Idanre community in the Idanre local government area, of the state.

Justice Idowu Kolawole, who presided over the case, also restrained Chief Akinnadeju from presenting himself for coronation as the traditional ruler of the town, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

The Aladeokun stool, which became vacant in 2020, following the death of Oba Olusegun Akinbola, has created a leadership vacuum in the Alade Idanre community, since then.

Meanwhile, there have been a lot of issues within the ruling houses in the community, ever since the need to fill the vacant seat remains obvious.

The indigenes of the community have been protesting against the possible installment of one Chief Alexander Akinnadeju.

The indigents alleged a plot to impose what they termed a ‘stranger’ as the next king of the community by officials of the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

However, they have vowed that the imposition of a stranger to the stool of Aladeokun would not be accepted under whatever cover.

Some people from the royal houses in the kingdom and the Akinboro ruling house filed a suit at the court, seeking an order of perpetual injunction restraining the Ondo State Government and the kingmakers from nominating, presenting, or appointing any member of the Akinnadeju family from filling the vacant stool of Aladeokun Alade Idanre.

The complaints also prayed the court to set aside the nomination, presentation, or appointment of any member of the Akinnadeju family, who is not a member of the Akinbola or Akinboro family.

However, Justice Kolawole adjourned the hearing of the Motion on Notice to May 8th, 2023.
