Conte urges Napoli to sign S’Eagles Lookman from Atalanta

Napoli boss, Antonio Conte, has reportedly urged the club’s top brass to prioritize the signing of Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman in the current transfer window.

The Atalanta forward is seen by Conte as the ideal long-term successor to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left the Serie A champions for Paris Saint-Germain in January.

According to reports, Lookman is considered one of the most attainable high-caliber options available this summer.

Napoli are believed to be ready to table an offer in the region of €50 million for the Nigerian star.

However, Atalanta are holding firm on a €60 million valuation and are open to selling to the highest bidder.

The Partenopei have already made a major move in the market by landing Manchester City icon Kevin De Bruyne and are aiming to strengthen further ahead of their league title defense and UEFA Champions League campaign next season.

Sources close to Lookman reveal that the 26-year-old is open to a new challenge this summer.

His name continues to dominate transfer talks across Europe, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona all reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Lookman sealed a permanent move to Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 and has flourished in Serie A under former boss Gian Piero Gasperini.

With Gasperini now taking charge of AS Roma, new Atalanta coach Ivan Juric is reportedly working to persuade the Nigerian international to remain in Bergamo.

Since his arrival at the club, Lookman has notched 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 matches across all competitions for La Dea.
