Kwara United are set to clash with Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, while Abia Warriors will take on Mali’s Djoliba in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.
The draw for this season’s tournament was held on Saturday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Nigeria’s President’s Federation Cup champions, Kwara United, will face off against Asante Kotoko in the first preliminary round.
The victor from this tie will then meet Morocco’s Wydad Athletic in the second preliminary round.
Making their debut in the competition, Abia Warriors will go head-to-head with Malian side Djoliba in the opening round.
The winner will advance to face either Burkina Faso’s USFA or Togo’s AS Gbohloe-su in the next stage.
Matches in the preliminary round are scheduled to begin in September.
In a notable update, CAF has raised the participation fee for teams in the Confederation Cup to $100,000 each.
