Como President debunks Messi transfer rumours

Reports suggesting that Lionel Messi could be on his way to Italian side Como have been firmly dismissed by the club’s president, Mirwan Suwarso.

Speculation was fueled after Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, was spotted attending Como’s preseason clash with Lille.

The sighting led to whispers of a possible switch for the Inter Miami forward, especially considering Messi’s close ties with Como’s coach, Cesc Fabregas.

Fabregas, a longtime friend of the Argentine superstar and his family, didn’t shut down the idea entirely, telling reporters,“Never say never.”

However, Suwarso was quick to pour cold water on the growing buzz, explaining to La Stampa, “The Messi family were guests of Fabregas and his wife. It would be a dream for him to come here, but why would he leave behind all the money he is earning now? Besides, we have not had any contact with him.”

In a follow-up with Sky Italy, Suwarso took an even firmer stance, “It’s not a dream; it’s impossible.”

So, while the idea of Messi dazzling in Como’s colors may excite fans, it seems that for now, the fantasy remains just that, a fantasy.
