Chelsea forward, João Pedro, has set his sights on football’s most prestigious individual honour, admitting he dreams of lifting the Ballon d’Or in the future.

Since sealing a big-money move from Brighton to Stamford Bridge in the summer, the Brazilian has quickly become one of the Blues’ rising stars, drawing praise for his performances.

His transfer was completed for an initial £55 million fee, which could increase to £60m with add-ons.

Speaking to Standard Sport, Pedro revealed his ultimate ambition.

“It would be a dream one day to win the Ballon d’Or. I believe in myself. Everything is possible. Maybe it can happen,” he said.

The 22-year-old, who previously played for Watford before his spell at Brighton, also backed Chelsea’s prospects in the league this season, with the team picking up seven points from their first three games.

“It’s too early to say whether we’re going to win the league, but I think we have a good chance,” Pedro added.
