Chelsea have officially secured the services of highly rated winger, Jamie Gittens from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, tying him down to a contract that runs until 2032.

The 20-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge with significant top-flight experience, having made over 100 appearances for the German giants.

Gittens, speaking to Chelsea’s official website, expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career, “It feels great,” he said. “It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea. I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”

Originally a product of Manchester City’s youth system, Gittens made the switch to Dortmund in 2020 and quickly progressed into the first team setup at Signal Iduna Park.

He made his senior debut towards the end of the 2021/22 campaign, and announced himself the following season with his maiden goal in August.

The talented wide man featured prominently in domestic and European competitions, racking up 20 appearances and three goals across the Bundesliga, Champions League, and DFB-Pokal.

He built on that form last season with 10 goal contributions in 34 outings across all competitions.

Gittens is expected to add pace and creativity to Chelsea’s attack as the Blues continue to invest in emerging talent.
