Chelsea have secured a financial boost of nearly £80 million after seeing off Fluminense 2-0 to book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

The victory came on Wednesday night, courtesy of a brace from new signing Joao Pedro, who arrived from Brighton just last week in a deal worth approximately £60 million.

The London club will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid in Sunday’s showdown as they chase their second piece of silverware this season, having already lifted the UEFA Conference League title.

Sharing the news on X, renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, wrote, “Chelsea have now earned fee close to £80m thanks to their FIFA Club World Cup performances, qualifying for the final.

“Excellent job by Enzo Maresca with UCL return, Conference League trophy and also perfect Club World Cup so far.”
