Senegal, Nigeria’s Super Eagles B’s Group D rivals at this year’s Africa Nations Championship, were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo in their second group game on Tuesday.
The Senegalese side came into the encounter buoyed by a narrow 1-0 victory over the Super Eagles B in their opener.
Congo, meanwhile, had earlier battled from a goal down to secure a 1-1 stalemate against Sudan.
In Tuesday’s clash, Congo drew first blood in the 19th minute through Moussavou.
However, with just eight minutes remaining, Layousse Samb found the back of the net to earn Senegal a share of the spoils.
With the result, Senegal stay atop Group D with four points, while Congo sit second on two points.
The Super Eagles B will now look to reignite their campaign when they take on Sudan on Tuesday evening.
