Home-based Super Eagles captain, Junior Nduka, has emphasized the importance of defeating Sudan in their upcoming match at the 2024 African Nations Championship.
After a narrow 1-0 loss to defending champions Senegal in their opening game, Eric Chelle’s squad is determined to bounce back.
The Eagles are set to face Sudan on Tuesday night at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar for their second group match.
A victory in this fixture would significantly boost Nigeria’s chances of advancing to the quarter-finals.
Nduka expressed the team’s resolve to give their best in pursuit of full points.
“We want to take each game as it comes, and next for us is Sudan. The previous game was a setback and not a disaster. We have a point to prove and we are ready to correct our mistakes,” Nduka told thenff.com.
The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off at 6pm Nigerian time.
Meanwhile, Senegal will take on Congo in the other group game.
