Preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship are gaining momentum as five additional players have joined the home-based Super Eagles camp in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed the latest arrivals on Tuesday.
The newcomers include Musa Zayad of Elkanemi Warriors, Aminu Adam from Kano Pillars, Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United, Godwin Obaje of Rivers United, and Kabiru Mohammed from Kwara United.
With their arrival, the number of players currently in camp has risen to 26.
Efoghe further disclosed that all 26 players participated in Tuesday evening’s training session, which was led by head coach Eric Chelle.
The 2024 edition of CHAN, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, marks the eighth staging of the tournament since its inception in 2009 in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Nigerian squad has been drawn in Group D, where they will face off against Senegal, Congo, and Sudan in the group stage.
