Delivering her first address as President, Connolly reaffirmed her “commitment to the Irish language, and the importance of a country’s native language.”

She further reflected on the symbolic timing of her inauguration on November 11th, Remembrance Day, acknowledging “the many wars and conflicts ongoing around the world.”

The ceremony embraced Ireland’s rich cultural heritage, featuring performances from an uilleann piper and a traditional harpist.
