The Confederation of African Football has unveiled the lineup of match officials selected for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, setting a new record with 46 Referees, Assistant Referees, and Video Assistant Referees appointed for the continental showdown.

This marks the highest number of officials ever assembled for a WAFCON tournament, surpassing the previous record of 40 at the 2022 edition.

A total of 18 Referees, 18 Assistant Referees, and 10 VAR operators will participate, representing 30 nations across Africa.

Host nation Morocco leads the list with five officials, the most from any single country.

Among those selected is renowned Moroccan referee Bouchra Karboubi, who previously handled matches at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Also making the list is experienced Rwandan official Salima Mukansanga, who made history as the center referee for the WAFCON 2022 final between Morocco and South Africa.

She will serve as one of the VAR officials in this year’s edition.

The 2024 WAFCON tournament will run from Saturday, July 5 to Saturday, July 26 in Morocco.
