Senator David Mark, National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, has called on Nigerians to support the party in Saturday’s bye-elections, assuring voters of ADC’s commitment to better governance.

Speaking at a gathering of ADC candidates in Abuja, Mark emphasized the party’s readiness to deliver on its promises while urging the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure a credible electoral process.

The event brought together ADC candidates contesting for senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly seats. Mark described the ADC as a necessary alternative for Nigerians, stating, “The ADC is a child of necessity. It was born out of the genuine desire to offer Nigerians an alternative and better governance. Give the party an opportunity to prove its worth.”

He specifically appealed to voters in Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun States to back ADC candidates, assuring them of the party’s dedication to fulfilling its pledges. Mark also stressed the importance of INEC’s role in restoring confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system, saying, “All eyes are on the Commission to correct past errors that have tarnished its public image. A truly free, fair, and credible election on Saturday could help redeem its reputation.”

The ADC chairman praised the determination of the party’s candidates, urging them and their supporters to adhere to electoral laws while remaining vigilant against any form of manipulation or intimidation.

Additionally, he called on security agencies to provide a fair and secure environment for all participants, ensuring that the electorate’s choice is respected without interference.
