Barcelona legend, Sergio Busquets, has advised youngster Fermin Lopez to resist the temptation of leaving the Catalan giants despite reported transfer interest from Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.
Busquets, who now plays for Inter Miami, shared his thoughts in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, stressing the importance of valuing the journey through La Masia and what it means to wear the Barça shirt.
“Players who leave La Masia have a different vision of what it’s like to wear the badge, to come through the youth ranks and reach your dream of being in the first team,” Busquets said.
“In the end it’s an individual decision, they have to look out for the good of themselves, the club and if he stays, then so much the better.
“I don’t know 100% if a sale is necessary, if he wants to leave, and the club give permission, the only thing we’re going to do is support him and wish him all the best.”
