The Edo State Government has revealed the shocking discovery of a brothel operating within the premises of a primary school in Esan West Local Government Area.
The brothel, situated in Ujuele Primary School, has since been sealed by authorities.
This was disclosed on Thursday during a press briefing held in Benin City by Eugene Okolosie, the State Coordinator for the Protection of Government Property.
Okolosie further announced that the government has reclaimed more than 2,000 plots of land previously taken over by land grabbers across the state.
He noted that a significant number of properties, over 150,000 houses, were illegally constructed on government-owned land.
“The community came to inform us that land grabbers forged their signatures and we moved into action and recovered about 90 per cent of the land back, including lands belonging to schools.
“For example in Ujuele Primary School, they built a brothel inside the school and we have sealed the brothel and some of these property will be converted and we are presently discussing with the governor on the matter,” Okolosie said.
