AFC Bournemouth continued their impressive preparations for the 2026/27 Premier League season with a ruthless 10-1 victory over Italian Serie A side Genoa in a high-scoring pre-season friendly.
The Cherries produced an attacking masterclass in the unique fixture, which was played over four 30-minute periods to allow both teams to rotate players and build match fitness ahead of the new campaign.
Bournemouth dominated from start to finish, creating numerous chances and overwhelming their Italian opponents.
Alex Scott and Enes Unal each scored twice, while Justin Kluivert also netted a brace from the penalty spot. Adrien Truffert, David Brooks, who converted another penalty, Daniel Jebbison and Malcom Dacosta Gonzalez were also on the scoresheet as Bournemouth reached double figures in emphatic fashion.
Genoa’s only goal came through Icelandic midfielder Mikael Egill Ellertsson, but it proved to be little more than a consolation as the Serie A outfit struggled to cope with Bournemouth’s relentless attacking display throughout the contest.
The emphatic victory will give Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola plenty of encouragement ahead of the new Premier League campaign, with several players delivering standout performances.
The Cherries will now look to carry their goalscoring form into their remaining pre-season fixtures before the league season gets underway.
