Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has brushed aside lingering questions about his fitness, insisting he is in top shape as he begins a new chapter with Werder Bremen.

The 24-year-old joined the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen after a turbulent summer that saw his high-profile move to AC Milan collapse at the final stage due to failed medical tests.

A proposed switch to Saudi Arabia also fell through, leaving his future in doubt.

At his official unveiling in Bremen, Boniface was quick to set the record straight, responding to media speculation about his condition.

“Whatever you want to believe on the media, you can believe them, that’s not on me…. I don’t care. If my body is not 100%, I will be in the hospital. I will not be here talking to you,” he declared in a relaxed video interview posted on X.

The Nigerian forward admitted the setback with Milan was difficult to accept, but he remains determined to bounce back stronger in the Bundesliga and prove his critics wrong.

Now focused on making an immediate impact for Bremen, Boniface is eager to show he is not only fit but ready to deliver.

“I’m here to play, to contribute, and to help the team,” he added, making it clear that doubts about his physical condition will not define his season.

With the new campaign ahead, Boniface’s mission is simple: silence the skeptics and get his career firmly back on track.
