Super Eagles forward, Victor Boniface, has showered accolades on his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, following a remarkable performance that powered Galatasaray to clinch the Turkish League title on Sunday.
Osimhen found the back of the net once again, raising his league tally to 25 goals this season.
The Napoli loanee now leads the scoring chart, staying four goals ahead of his closest rival, Krzysztof Piątek, who sits at 21 goals.
Just days earlier, Osimhen had netted a brace, a milestone that saw the Nigerian striker break a 24-year-old record to become the most prolific foreign goalscorer in a single Turkish league season.
The record was previously held by Brazilian great Mario Jardel, who scored 34 goals in one campaign.
In response to Osimhen’s record-breaking exploits, Boniface, who plies his trade with Bayer Leverkusen, took to his official X account to celebrate the achievement, writing, “Best ever, Victor Osimhen.”
