The office of the Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization has announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of its Chief Press Secretary, effective June 15, 2025.

The suspension was communicated via an official letter signed by Hon. Terver Atu, the Principal’s Special Assistant on Youth and Media Mobilization.

The terse letter cited “actions deemed as working against the explicit directives of your Principal” as grounds for the suspension, describing the conduct as “a serious breach of your duties and the trust placed in your office.”

The suspended official has been directed to “refrain from all official duties and responsibilities” during the suspension period and is barred from representing the office or the Principal in any capacity.

“This suspension is indefinite, and the duration and any further actions will be determined following a comprehensive review of the matter,” the letter stated, concluding with a formal signature from Hon. Atu.

The suspension may be connected to recent protests held in the state in which the Chief Press Secretary partook of.

Mr Lubem Terkura (Aluta General) has been selected as an interim replacement.
