Barcelona sign Rashford from Man Utd

Barcelona have reportedly secured the signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, with the official confirmation now the only step remaining before he begins his next chapter in Spain.

Renowned transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the development, revealing that the Manchester United forward has signed his contract with Barcelona earlier today.

“Marcus Rashford has signed his contract as new Barcelona player,” Romano posted on X.

While the deal is all but confirmed, Barcelona have held off on releasing an official statement.

According to SPORT, the delay stems from efforts to synchronize the announcement with Manchester United, who are currently flying to the United States for their pre-season tour.

Originally scheduled for Monday, the announcement had to be postponed due to final-minute adjustments. Still, Rashford was already involved with his new team on Tuesday, taking part in activities at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Though he didn’t complete every drill in the morning session, he attended the tactical meetings.

In the later session, the Englishman joined some of the on-field exercises prepared by the coaching staff.

He also met his new teammates, who he’ll share the dressing room with throughout the campaign.

Rashford joins Barcelona on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for €30 million. The Catalan club will cover his entire salary, reportedly trimmed to €14 million gross, to make the deal feasible for all parties.

While the agreement is initially for one season, both Rashford and Barcelona hope the arrangement will evolve into a longer-term commitment.

The final outcome will depend on the 26-year-old’s form and impact on the pitch.

Determined to rediscover his best football, Rashford made financial sacrifices to push the move through. His performance this season will ultimately determine whether Barcelona activates the buy option.

From the club’s standpoint, it’s a low-risk investment. Should things not work out, they’d only be liable for his reduced salary. But if Rashford shines, Barcelona would land a proven attacker at a bargain price.
