Atiku receives ADC presidential flag for 2027 election

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, has formally received the party’s flag ahead of the 2027 general election following the conclusion of its presidential primary process in Abuja.

The presentation took place on Wednesday evening at the party’s national secretariat, where leaders and supporters gathered after the collation of votes from the nationwide exercise.

The national chairman of the party, David Mark, handed over the flag to Atiku, describing him as the party’s standard bearer for the upcoming presidential race.

In his remarks, Mark urged unity among party members and said the ADC must present itself as a credible alternative to Nigerians.

He noted that the party’s success would depend on trust and collective effort, adding that political actors must put national interest above personal ambition.

“We are handing over our flag to our flag bearer,” Mark said during the ceremony. “The journey ahead may be challenging, but with Nigerians on our side, we can succeed. Let this moment mark a renewal of political trust.”

Atiku, in his acceptance speech, called for unity among contestants who participated in the primary, including former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

He urged them to join forces with the party in preparation for the general election.
