Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta, has expressed high expectations for new recruit Noni Madueke, revealing the winger is set to play a key role for the Gunners in the upcoming season.
Madueke, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in July 2025 on a long-term deal, is expected to bring fresh energy and attacking flair to the team.
The 23-year-old, born in north London, previously featured in 92 matches for Chelsea across all competitions, contributing to the club’s success in lifting both the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup during the 2024/25 campaign.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Arteta shared his satisfaction with the club’s transfer activity and enthusiasm about Madueke’s arrival.
“It’s probably a coincidence. What is not a coincidence is the squad and the quality of the squad. While I’m here as well, I congratulate them for winning the Club World Cup because I think it was a big achievement for them.
“With Noni, I’m very, very excited. You’ve seen the reaction of all the players as well, especially the ones who know him very well. He needs a little bit of a break now, but he will be with us soon showing what he’s going to bring to the team.”
Madueke is expected to join up with the squad soon, as Arteta prepares his side for a campaign in which the England international could be a game-changer.
