Arsenal, Bayern reportedly eye Lyon winger Malick Fofana

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Lyon’s left winger Malick Fofana, with German giants Bayern Munich also expressing interest as the summer transfer window nears its close,

Reports suggested that the Gunners could be active in the final days of the window, with Eberechi Eze already linked to a move to the Emirates, according to outlets like The Athletic and The Independent.

Now, French publication L’Equipe (via caughtoffside.com) claims that Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Fofana, the talented Belgian international, who is reportedly valued at around €40 million.

Lyon, facing pressure to balance their books, are open to letting the youngster leave this summer.

Adding both Eze and Fofana could crowd Arsenal’s attacking options, but the squad might accommodate the pair.

The potential sale of Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz’s current injury could also influence Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Left-sided winger Leandro Trossard might see more central opportunities due to Havertz’s absence, allowing Eze and Fofana to compete for minutes on the left flank.

With Eze capable of playing in a central role, he could complement Martin Ødegaard, meaning the England international and Fofana could potentially feature in the same starting XI.
