Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare, stole the spotlight on Saturday night as Nigeria secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The 24-year-old, who recently joined Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, came off the bench to replace Frank Onyeka in the second half and netted the decisive goal in the 51st minute.
This strike marked his second goal in just five appearances for the Super Eagles.
Arokodare’s match-winning performance earned him the Man of the Match award, along with a N1 million prize.
The accolade was sponsored by Carloha, the Nigeria Football Federation’s official automobile partner and exclusive Chery vehicle dealer in Nigeria.
After the game, a ceremonial dummy check was presented to Arokodare by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, and top officials from Carloha, celebrating the striker’s pivotal contribution to Nigeria’s victory.
