Nigerian troops have scored major successes against insurgent groups in the Northeast, dismantling terrorist supply networks and neutralizing fighters in a series of coordinated operations between July 15-22, 2025.

The military operations, conducted by Operation Hadin Kai in collaboration with air forces, Civilian JTF and local hunters, targeted Boko Haram and ISWAP strongholds across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Markus Kangye revealed that troops arrested multiple terrorist collaborators supplying communication equipment, drugs and bomb-making materials.

“Our troops arrested multiple collaborators responsible for supplying communication equipment, illicit drugs, improvised explosive device (IED) components, and arms-making materials to terrorists,” Kangye stated in Abuja.

Key breakthroughs included the July 19 arrest of Mallam Aminu Idris transporting Starlink equipment along the Kano-Maiduguri route, and the interception of drug trafficker Ali Abba with large quantities of tramadol and diazepam.

Between July 18-22, coordinated ambushes in Bama, Monguno and Konduga eliminated several terrorists while recovering weapons, IED materials and communication devices.

Other notable operations saw troops intercept four motorcycles carrying supplies to terrorists in Madagali on July 15, arrest seven logistics suppliers on July 16, and neutralize a terrorist in Gwoza on July 17.

A night ambush on July 18 along Lambawa-Kalari road killed one insurgent and recovered weapons. Subsequent operations on July 20 foiled infiltration attempts in Monguno and seized IED materials in Madagali.

The military also recorded surrenders, with ten terrorist family members giving up in Bama, while a 15-year-old informant was arrested in intelligence-led operations. On July 22, troops intercepted a truckload of solar equipment, electronics and food supplies destined for insurgents in Gamboru.

Kangye praised troops’ performance, noting the operations had severely disrupted terrorist logistics. “These offensives have denied terrorists critical supplies and degraded their operational capacity. The Armed Forces remain committed to restoring lasting peace and security in the region,” he affirmed.
