The popular music group, the Happie Boys, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, appeared at Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere’s church to publicly apologize during the service, bringing an end to months of speculation surrounding their fallout with the clergyman.
Addressing the congregation, the group revealed that their actions against Apostle Chibuzor were the result of deception by a U.S.-based nurse assistant, Daniel Ochu, whom they described as a “fake doctor.”
According to the boys, Ochu misled them into speaking negatively about the pastor under the pretense of helping them secure opportunities to travel to the United States.
“We were misled and taken advantage of,” one of the members said. “We sincerely regret the pain and confusion our actions may have caused. We now see that we were being manipulated.”
During the service, Apostle Chibuzor, the founder of Omega Power Ministries, provided additional context to the situation.
He explained that Ochu had previously approached him requesting financial support for his NGO.
However, the pastor said he had declined, citing his existing commitments as a philanthropist, including running free schools, hospitals, and other charitable initiatives.
“I had to say no because my resources are already stretched across various projects aimed at helping the needy,” Apostle Chibuzor told the congregation. “Unfortunately, this rejection seemed to anger him, and he sought to tarnish my reputation by influencing others against me.”
The Happie Boys also admitted that their conflict with Apostle Chibuzor stemmed from this manipulation.
They acknowledged the support the pastor had given them, including sponsoring their studies in Cyprus about two years ago.
“We owe much of our growth to Apostle Chibuzor,” one member reflected. “It hurts to realize we let someone else’s lies come between us and a man who has always supported us.”
The heartfelt reconciliation ended on a positive note, with Apostle Chibuzor praying for the boys and urging them to remain focused on their careers and personal growth.
