The Women Wing of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Anambra State has officially endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for re-election in the upcoming November 8 governorship election.
The endorsement was made public on Thursday in Awka during the 2025 Anambra State Women Summit, which took place at the APGA South-East Regional Office.
The summit, themed “Together We Rise: Achieving the Best Through Women,” brought together women across the state to show their support for the governor.
Esther Onyekesi, the APGA Women Leader in Anambra State and Convener of the summit, expressed that Governor Soludo deserved re-election to complete the various development projects he had initiated.
She highlighted his accomplishments, particularly in the health and security sectors, as key factors behind their endorsement.
Onyekesi emphasized that Soludo’s administration had significantly impacted the state, with notable achievements such as free antenatal and delivery care for all pregnant women in government hospitals, regardless of tribe or religion. She also pointed out that education was now free for children in the state, security had greatly improved, and youths were being trained and empowered through skill acquisition programs. Onyekesi further urged other political candidates to consider stepping down for Soludo to help him realize his Vision-2070, aimed at transforming Anambra into a clean, green, peaceful, secure, livable, and prosperous state.
The summit was organized to rally support for the governor’s re-election bid.
In her response, Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of the governor, expressed her gratitude to the women for their endorsement. She reaffirmed that her husband’s administration had placed a strong focus on empowering women and improving their living standards. She praised the women for their remarkable turnout, which she saw as a testament to their support and appreciation for her husband’s efforts. Dr. Soludo also assured the women that her husband’s commitment to advancing their welfare remained unwavering.
